Greg was driving through a roundabout on the Gold Coast when another vehicle failed to give way and collided with his car side-on. His vehicle was badly damaged, and in the immediate aftermath, Greg had no idea what he was supposed to do next.

That confusion stayed with him in the days that followed — not just about the accident itself, but about what came after.
After the collision, Greg was left with injuries that made his physically demanding work in pest control harder to manage. He went back to work in the days that followed, but not at the same capacity — his hours were cut, and tasks that had been routine before the crash became more difficult to get through.
Pest control work doesn't allow much room for physical limitation. The job demands constant movement, and when that becomes painful or restricted, there is no easy way to work around it.
For someone whose income depends on being out in the field, even a partial reduction in capacity creates real pressure at home and at work. Greg was trying to recover while still earning a living, managing the day-to-day effects of the accident, and at the same time trying to figure out whether there was anything he could do about what had happened.
Recovery while working is its own kind of challenge. Every day Greg showed up to a job that demanded more from his body than he was currently able to give — and the gap between where he was and where he needed to be was a reminder of what the accident had taken from him, at least for the time being.
